So by now, I’m sure most of you know that I’m a huge Smashbox fan! (You can see some of my Smashbox favourites here and here. ) They are definitely one of my favourite beauty brands available in South Africa, if not one of my favourite beauty brands available anywhere! So I was completely thrilled (like jumping up and down for joy type thrilled!) when I received a bunch of products from the new Smashbox Limited Edition “Love Me” Collection which I had already been eyeing with total lust! I received the products on the day I was leaving for a holiday (Which is also why I haven’t blogged in a while.) so I packed them with me and used the heck out of them while I was away! … Which means you can get the full scoop on the collection and my reviews here.
So a few months ago I wrote about my extreme excitement about a Top Shop pop-up-shop opening in Unknown Union on Kloof Street, and a few months later we found out that a real Topshop stand alone store is opening in Sandton at the end of November … While this was great news for fashionistas in Johannesburg, it was kind of a bummer for us residents of Cape Town who thought we still won’t have access to one of their stand alone stores that carry their latest, trendiest merchandise … until now that is! We just got great news that a Topshop stand alone store will indeed be opening at V&A Waterfront in the first quarter of 2013! … Yay!!
So when I was in Canal Walk yesterday, I saw a huge sign saying ‘Bebe coming soon’ and I nearly did a little jump for joy right there in the middle of the mall! For those of you that are not familiar with Bebe stores, they are an upscale trendy clothing and accessories fashion brand from the U.S. that according to their website, caters to the ‘the confident, sexy, modern woman’. They are huge in the U.S., Canada, and in several other countries internationally so it’s really exciting that we will have yet another amazing place to find awesome trendy fashion here in Cape Town and South Africa!Continue reading
So I’m sure that by now most of you have heard about Stila Cosmetics and their recent launch here in South Africa … and if you haven’t, you can find the ‘who, what, where’ on them in my recent post ‘So Many New Lust-Worthy Beauty Brands Entering Cape Town … Here’s the Lowdown on Them!’. If you have read that post than you would know that I was especially excited about Stila’s launch here because I’ve been a fan of theirs from way back when I lived in Canada. So at the first chance I could get, I had to rush out and get my hands on some of the products they launched! The first two products I purchased were their In The Moment Eye Shadow Palette and their Custom Color Blush in Self Adjusting Coral and here are my reviews for them. 🙂
So I’m sure that by now you all know about Lush Cosmetics and that they opened at the V&A Waterfront Mall a few weeks ago … And if you read my recent post ‘So Many New Lust-Worthy Beauty Brands Entering Cape Town … Here’s the Lowdown on Them!’ (which you can also read if you don’t know about them and would like to know more), you would know that I recently purchased a few of their products. So, as promised … here is my review on my little Lush(-ous) products haul! (I just had to throw that pun in there!)Continue reading
It is so exciting how recently there seems so many amazing well known international makeup and skincare brands popping up in South Africa and Cape Town! I am especially thrilled about this trend because after living my whole life in Canada and then in the Middle East; both of which have almost every well known beauty brand you can think of at your finger tips, I was actually nervous about not being able to find my favourite beauty products when I moved here! Thankfully the beauty world has seemed to have discovered South Africa’s potential and are making their way over here! So here’s the lowdown on the latest beauty brands to arrive on our shores along with when and where they are or will be in Cape Town. Continue reading
I have always been a huge fan of multitasking beauty products … Anything that helps to make my beauty routine quicker and less complicated is a major plus for me! Let’s just say I like to look good but I don’t really want to put a huge amount of time and effort into getting there! So for years I’ve been using tinted moisturizers that include SPF to get a three in one step that covers my moisturizer, foundation (sheer coverage) and sun protection in my morning beauty/makeup routine. Since, I was comfortable with my tinted moisturizers, I didn’t really jump onto the BB Cream bandwagon even though I always wanted to (I’m a bit of a creature of habit). So as my last tinted moisturizer was running out I decided to finally take the plunge … Why use a ‘3 in 1’ product when I can use a ‘5 in 1’ product!Continue reading
A few weeks ago I indulged in a day at the Mangwanani Spa and while I was there I bought the African Rose Oil Salt Scrub so I could enjoy some pampering at home. I hadn’t tried it until a few days ago when the weather was warming up and I realized that all the heated air in winter had really left my skin dry and in desperate need of some exfoliation! I must say I was pleasantly surprised!
If you are a Benefit Cosmetics fan who lives in South Africa I’m sure you are aware by now that Benefit Cosmetics is leaving Woolworths and South Africa (So Sad!). And for those of you who didn’t know … I am truly sorry for breaking this very disappointing news to you! I’m not quite sure why they are leaving but it is true and most people are highly puzzled by this decision. However before you shoot the messenger, I have two pieces of good news to shine some light at the end of this tunnel, which I will share with you hereContinue reading
