Aqua blue and turquoise eye make up has been seen all over the runways and red carpets lately and being reminiscent of the ocean and clear blue skies it is such a perfect colour to wear during the Summer here in South Africa! Not to mention it works perfectly with this season’s pastel and floral trends! It’s also a perfect weekend ‘out on the town’ look being soft enough to pull off during the day and intense enough to wear at night! Since I am currently in-love with this colour, I thought I would show you guys how I wear it … keeping it simple of course!
I started by making sure I had a smooth and even complexion by using my Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream which also works as a primer and my MAC Select Cover-Up in NC30 (My favourite concealer for years!) to conceal my under eye circles and any blemishes that I had.
I then used my Benefit Creaseless Cream/Liner in Top Brass and applied it on my upper lid from lash to crease using my MAC 242 Shader brush.
Then I used this Almay Intense I-Color Shadow Stick in 010 for brown eyes which I found on sale at clicks recently … I have hazel eyes but I loved the colour so I bought it anyways! I first used it by applying it directly to my lower lid just under the lash line, extending it slightly past the outer corner of my eye.
Then I took my MAC 219 Pencil Brush and dipped into the Almay Intense I-Color Shadow and used in the crease of my upper lid and across my upper lash line, extending it past the outer corner of my eye (to meet the line on my lower lash line) as you can see below.
After blending it in a bit, I used my Benefit Get Bent Liner brush with this Bobby Brown eye shadow in Espresso from the Smokey Eye Quad to line my upper and lower lash lines. I wanted to create some definition around my eyes but didn’t want to use a black eyeliner because it would be too harsh and take away from the soft summery look that this colour brings.
And that was it … That’s how I got my pretty easy to do ‘Aqua Eyes’ look I wore it with a soft pink lip and I used Dior Show Mascara in Black (my absolute favourite mascara of all time!) on my eyelashes. (I put it on before doing my eye shadow so that my eyelashes would look pretty in the pictures!)
